BYU men’s track and field tops USTFCCCA ranking, women jump to No. 6
NEW ORLEANS – The BYU men’s track and field team moved up 11 spots in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s national ratings to become the top-ranked men’s outdoor team for the first time in program history while the BYU women’s team jumped 33 spots to No. 6 in the women’s rankings.
The BYU men notched seven national top-5 marks this past weekend at the Hayward Premiere to take over the top spot in the national ratings for the first time since the USTFCCCA began doing in-season rankings in 2008. The Cougars have a total of nine marks that rank in the top five nationally.

The BYU women were one of the biggest risers in this week’s women’s ratings with the 33-spot jump to receive their highest ranking in-season ranking since the start of in-season rankings in 2008. The Cougars added seven national top-7 marks at the Hayward Premiere in Eugene, Oregon. They now have nine marks that rank in the top 10 nationally.
