Men's & Women's Teams Rank in Top Ten

PROVO -- The men's and women's track and field teams are ranked third and 10th, respectively, according to the USTCA Team Power Rankings.

The Team Power Ranking evaluates teams based on team depth, performance and dual meet scoring potential. The power ranking system assigns points for the top two athletes in each event based on the quality of their performance in dual meets. The points for the entire team are then totaled to make the team power ranking.

For the men, BYU with 256.78 points is preceded by LSU (261.62) and Eastern Michigan. LSU also tops the women's list at 295.69, followed by North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Nebraska. BYU women's team has a score of 256.9.

The men's team has had six athletes provisionally qualify for nationals, and the women's team has had three athletes and the distance medley team qualify.
